"When painting I feel like I am constantly learning, and giving part of me in exchange for a small evolution of my work. I find this very beautiful."

Born in Brazil in 1997 and raised in a family of artists, Antonia began to work in the arts industry in 2019. It was through her work in digital illustration that she was noticed by several famous brands and international personalities, as a result her first work was for actress Drew Barrymore, for whom she still works on a regular base. With such recognition on an international level happening so fast, Antonia tells us "It felt like my work had legs and was running before me."

Her transition into painting was shy, but just like her digital illustration work, recognition came instantly. It was during her move from Estonia to Lisbon, that she notices she had forgot to pack a large canvas and some paints, and with no expectations, she sat in front of the canvas and began to paint freely. This canvas was the first painting she ever posted on Instagram and sold within minutes.

"MIRROR IMAGES" portrays her personal universe, this theme was intuitive and she tells us " I feel like painting is still such an intimate process, that for now it´s all I can paint."

Regarding the creative process, in painting her approach is "...quite zen and relaxed" and work flows naturally. When it comes to digital illustration, the dynamics are quite different, more strict and fast.

Though painting Antonia feels she is in constant learning, completely present when she paints, every canvas is a unique experience.

Currently, she feels inspired by artists such as Gabrielle Grässle, Delia Hammer and Albert Tannat, whose work also lives in the walls of of our store.

"I feel their work is quite free and poetic with a colourful, light and fun approach."
