House 8

Development and implementation of a Residential Interior Design project for a 70+25m2 house in Santa Cruz, Portugal. 2023

A small semi-detached house summer house updated. A family legacy revitalized through an interior design architecture project redesigning spaces and function, keeping the identity and spirit of the 60’s decade. A project in which the vernacular local identity, crafts, and artistic spirit blend in a festive and spontaneous manner.

In architecture, the contemporary and functional design is combined with materials commonly used in Portugal in the mid-20th century, such as granolithic concrete, hand-painted tiles, Estremoz marbles, cobogó tiles, and others. The design itself is stylized and searching for frugal simplicity.

In the interiors, the different eras of time blend in the form of an eclectic design, casual and joyful just like a summer vacation house should be.

Colours, textures and patterns, materials, lists, and drawings, all come together in an unusual way, without any obvious connection except for the whole. And like just like that the different environments of the house are designed, a decorative manifesto in which the aesthetic of every detail is present.

Casa Bicas Comporta

Development and implementation of a Residential Interior Design project for a 225 m2 house in Comporta, Portugal. 2023

Sound metaphor of the pine and oak surroundings that involve this single-family house in the area of Comporta. Also seemingly silent are the interiors designed for it. Serene as the wind whispering through the trees, speckled with the humming of insects and the singing of the cicadas.

The interiors are an extension of this stillness, with a simple and functional design, as a connection to the natural surroundings in every single material and texture. As they are also speckled. Speckled with colour.

The spirit of each space is stripped down and relaxed, just as a leisure house should be. A contemporary aesthetic merges with timeless design, in which the materials, colours and details are a subtle reference to the Mediterranean and local popular culture.

Torres House

Development and implementation of a Residential Interior Design project for a 250 m2 house in Torres Vedras, Portugal. 2022

The architecture suggests contemporary interiors. Our approach was to create a timeless contemporaneity, built and enhanced by the warmth of comfort and light. We created an aesthetic narrative that references the Scandinavian imaginary, to design an environment in which functional family life and wellness come together in spaces that provide inner calmness. Calmness in materials, calmness in shapes, calmness in colour, and calmness in time. A serenity that one can breathe throughout the house, flowing across all rooms, without any of them losing its individual purpose.

The crossed view between Sintra mountains and Cascais sea, creates the concept of inspiration for this housing project signed by the Architect Tiago Patrício Rodrigues, where the romanticism and the dense and shaded green of the mountains, merge with the rocky and the deepest blue sea wich hits the rocks of the cliffs. Sal Apartment

Development and implementation of a Residential Architecture and Interior Design project for a 110m2 apartment in Lisbon, Portugal. 2017

It’s a space of time and memories, a “Belle Epoque” Apartment, which still breathes much of Pombaline typology. Target of some careless interventions it is searching for its initial memory along with a new contemporary living. This was the concept of an intervention that should be "surgical" in order to preserve the essence of space and materiality, while bringing the house to contemporary times, through a new typology, where functionalities transmit the current way of living and also a new spatial fluidity, explored through the maximization of pre-existing symmetries.
The different times and memories extend from space to furniture and objects, which came mainly from several generations of the owner’s family, having been subjected to a rigorous selection, which aims to combine them with pieces of historic design, with origins in the 50s and 60s of the twentieth century.
